RAA Elects 2026-2027 Officers
Nic Berg, Head of P&C North America at SCOR and CEO of SCOR US, was elected Chair of the Reinsurance Association of America (RAA) Board of Directors at its 58th Annual Meeting on April 24, 2026.
John Bender, Chairman of Reinsurance and Risk Management, Allied World Reinsurance Company, was elected Vice Chair. Christopher Donelan, Chief Executive Officer, Global Reinsurance, Sompo International Holdings Ltd., was elected Secretary-Treasurer.
RAA Testifies on How Reinsurance Diversifies Risk for Large-Scale Losses and Benefits Taxpayers in House Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance
Reinsurance Association of America (RAA) member Anthony Vidovich, executive vice president and general counsel, Everest Group Ltd., testified today at a legislative hearing before the United States House Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance. During his testimony, Vidovich highlighted how reinsurance benefits government programs by shifting risk to private markets, helping federal programs manage exposure, better assess and price risk, and lower costs to taxpayers by reducing the likelihood that they are asked to absorb large-scale losses.
RAA Rejects Federal Reinsurance Concept, Urges Focus on Meaningful Solutions for Homeowners
The Reinsurance Association of America (RAA), in response to a paper calling for a federal reinsurance program for homeowners insurance that was released at a Brookings Institution event yesterday, said the paper misdiagnoses the problem and, therefore, is seeking a flawed solution. The RAA rejected the paper’s misguided concept, noting that it fails to address the actual drivers of homeowners insurance costs.
